- Almost every time I catch a bus the thing that strikes me (other than the almost always lateness of Wellington buses), is how inadequate bus stops are in their design for shelter. It seems that I’m not the only one thinking this way …. With the invention of Adshel and its nasty advertising props parading, inadequately, as bus shelters, is there really any hope that public transport might become the prime mode of moving people around the city?

First XI Score Emphatic Win over Tawa

- Wednesday 11 August 2010: In a mid-week catch up game, Stream's First XI Football team faced third placed Tawa as they aim for the Premier 1 title. In a game played at pace on a firm, well-prepared Silverstream pitch Stream's solid defence and powerful attack was too much for Tawa. Two goals from Mitchell Blair and a hat-trick to Hamish Watson gave Stream a 5-1 final result.

Jazz 'n Jam with Christchurch Boys' High
- St Patricks College, Silverstream
- Wednesday 11 August 2010: Stream's Jazz Band jammed with members of Christchurch Boys' High School today as the Christchurch school passed through as part of their 2010 Road Trip. The Road Trip included participation at Blenheim's jazz-focussed Southern Jam Festival and visits to schools in Palmerston North and Wellington. Tonight they perform a concert in Wellington.

Lower membership fees for YWCA Greater Wellington
- YWCA of Wellington & Hutt Valley
- This year, the YWCA of Greater Wellington is celebrating International Year of Youth and making their organisation more accessible for young women to join. YWCA of Greater Wellington’s Executive Director Makere Derbyshire says, “The YWCA here in Wellington is maybe one of the only organisations that has reduced its membership fee in this day and age, making it more accessible for women to be a part of the YWCA movement locally.”

First XV Make Premier 1 Final

- Saturday 7 August 2010: On a muddy, water-laden Wellington College pitch, Stream's First XV stepped up and made amends for their Traditional loss by beating Coll 12-10 with a solid, determined game in the Wellington Premier 1 semi-final. They now go on to meet Town on Monday evening for the Premier title at Porirua Park.
