Carless City For Wellington
- Bryan Pepperell - Back To The Future
- With the recent dialog on the issues of retailers and town planners would now be a good time to consider engaging the New Zealand Property Council in our debate. Or better still is there an option for them to call a meeting now that we know Sir Robert Jones is in favour of "pedestrianization from the Railway Station right to the Embassy Theater"?

Hutt Old Boys Marist come back from the brink to beat Upper Hutt Rams
- Wellington Club Weekly
- Heart-stopper at the Hutt Rec: HOBM Eagles centre Taiso Silafai-Leaanaa scores in the corner today in HOBM's remarkable win over the Upper Hutt Rams Has there been a comeback like it in Wellington club rugby in modern times? Not since Tawa's 42-35 win over Poneke in 2010 when they came back from 7-35 perhaps? Today, the Hutt Old Boys Marist Eagles came back from being 17-40 down on the scoreboard and at that moment treading water on the Swindale Shield points table to bonus point 41-40 winners and within a matter of minutes right back in the race for first round Swindale Shield honours...

Bus corridors, paying for Park and Ride and pets on public transport up for consultation in Wellington plan
- Greater Wellington Regional Council
- New regional bus corridors, paying for parking at train station Park and Rides, and pets on public transport are among public consultation topics in the draft Wellington Regional Public Transport Plan 2025-2035. Feedback is also being sought on cash free buses and the redevelopment of Waterloo Station into a transport hub with commercial and community spaces. Greater Wellington chair Daran Ponter says the plan proposes affordable investments that improve the passenger experience and encourage people away from using private vehicles.

Fair Fares For Wellington
- Thorndon Residents Assocation
- Tony Randle, Chair, Johnsonville Progressive Association. No-one likes to raise public transport fares, especially when so many are reliant on this service. But these costs have increased so rail users can travel in new trains on upgraded track and use upgraded stations. The approach of the Greater Wellington Regional Council (GWRC) is to raise fares equally for both bus and rail users. It seems doubly unfair in raising fares on bus users who cannot benefit from the new trains when their own service will receive little service improvement. In effect, increased bus fares are being used to pay for increased rail costs.

A City for People
- Decades of inaction have meant house prices are out of control, while old rental properties rot out from underneath us. A whole generation of people are at risk of being forced out from the central city into new suburbs sprawling north, spending hours every day in traffic jams. We believe the Spatial Plan will allow Wellington to plan for the future so that new generations of Wellingtonians can share the city we love, and have a chance to live in a home that is affordable, accessible, healthy and warm.
