No credibility: the investigation of an underground railway for Wellington
- Wellington Scoop
- We’re getting contradictory messages about tunnels in Wellington. The Transport Agency says they’re too expensive for any of our roads. But consultants hired by the Regional Council are solemnly investigating the possibility of building tunnels under the city for an underground railway. The plan cannot be given any credibility.

Not a monkey on your back - more of a Kiwi
- Keith Johnson
- I was bowled over by the ongoing exhibition of paintings and drawings by Graham Percy at Wellington City’s Art Gallery – these have a truly delightful whimsicality that plays on contrasts between the supposedly rococo intricacies of European history and the ostensibly mundane life taking root in Europe’s most far-flung offshoot.

Friends of Maara Roa
- Maara Roa is a forest restoration project at Cannons Creek Valley near Porirua. Its purpose is to restore the Bush back to what it was before the people who ruined it came. The project started in 2000, after some gorse fires destroyed yet more sections of native bush. A small group of people met to see if something could be done to stop it. The life and times of James Walter Chapman-Taylor
- ‘The life and times of James Walter Chapman-Taylor’ enables us to enter into the life and times of a man, a family, a society, and ways of thinking and acting different to, yet not so distant from, our own. We enter the world of an architect, who is also an artist; builder, craftsman; a theosophist, an astrologer, a photographer, a furniture maker.
