      • Operation Details Date/Time:  Tue, 05/01/2021 - 11:00 - 15:00 Operation Type:  SAROP Cat 1 People Assisted:  2 Total Volunteer Hours:  16 7m runabout had steering failure whilst anchored up diving/fishing on the west coast near Boom Rock. They called CG Radio and gave their location as Titahi Bay. MR1 responded and was unable to locate the vessel anywhere in the Titahi Bay area and their phone was out of coverage. Escalated to Police to assist with enquiring about their location (as we had no way of contacting them). Police eventually managed to get a call connected long enough for them to say 4km south of Titahi Bay. We found them 3.6NM (6.6km) south of Titahi Bay and towed them home to Mana Marina.       • There were some very close games on Saturday with SMOG 11, 13 and 17 all winning with a couple of points or so. SMOG 17 also had a close game, neck and neck with McLaren’s Daughters until the very last quarter where they were just edged out. SMOG 1 and 2 played eachother for the first time this season with a fab amount of support from the sideline given the weather!

      • Saturday 29 August 2009: The true Stream spirit and pride were on show as the Under-65B Rugby team won 8-7 against the HIBS Under-65A Team in the Under-65 Grade Final. That special Stream character was needed as the team held out HIBs for 15 minutes while down to 12 players and then held a 1-point lead for the last 30 minutes of the game.

      • Crime statistics released today show Wellington Police District's total recorded crime in the 2009 calendar year has remained at similar levels to 2008. There was an increase of less than 1 percent in recorded crime for the year ending 31 December 2009 compared to the previous year. However, when adjustment is made for the population increase, the district recorded a marginal drop (0.5 percent) in recorded offences per head of population.

    • The Thistle Inn
      • The Thistle Inn was built in 1840. she is the oldest hotel in NZ still trading from the original site. In July 1866 she was burnt to the ground but by December the same year she was back operating. You will see the original beer cellar through the glass floor. She is a Category 1 historic place building and was completely restored in 2004 (as close as possible to how she was in 1866).
