    • That the Khandallah Summer Swimming Pool remains open until the end of the Easter Holidays.
      • The Khandallah Community Noticeboard requests that the Khandallah Summer Pool remains open until the end of the Easter Holidays every year The subject has been widely canvassed on the Noticeboard and has unanimous and popular support. The petition is solely focused on extending the opening dates for the pool. While the Community is fully committed to supporting upgrading and investing in the pool facilities, this will be pursued as a separate initiative.

    • Make safe space for cycling on Thorndon Quay
      • We all deserve safe streets. Let’s make Thorndon Quay safe for people on bikes. We call on Wellington City Council to change angle parking to parallel parking on Thorndon Quay, to make space for people on bikes. Thorndon Quay is a key route in Wellington’s cycling network, linking the city with northern suburbs. Sadly, it has a high crash rate. That needs fixing urgently.

    • Ensure those evicted due to sale of Council housing are rehoused.
      • We the undersigned request that the Wellington City Council to ensure that those evicted from their homes as a result of the Wellington City Council's decision on 30 September 2020 to sell 20 City Council housing units, are found appropriate and affordable housing and that their relocation costs be paid by Wellington City Council. Further that by taking the aforementioned move the Council does not move its attention from the overall housing problem.

    • Half-sized option for council rubbish bags.
      • We need to offer half-sized council rubbish bags for sale, additional to the current full-sized rubbish bags. This will help us consciously reduce waste, good for reducing costs and weights of the bags which is especially for those on benefits or the elderly on Super, will help reduce the illegal dumping of rubbish, and helps ease the burden of those collecting the rubbish.

    • Reduce Motorcycle Theft
      • Kia ora koutou, I would like the Council to consider options for improving the security of motorbikes parked in the Wellington CBD. One practical option is to install anchor points for locks in high risk parks, which could be done cost effectively by the Council's contractors.

    • Renaming of Wellington city street names
      • That Council review all Wellington city streets and the Wellington city name and change those that are named after historical figures with behaviour that is abhorrent to me today. Stuff reports 11 Jun, Councillor Fitzsimons urging Lucy Telfar-Barnard to start a petition to rename Picton Street. I think we should support this initiative and would also like to at least help start the Council off by adding these:

    • Shared Path Miramar Peninsula
      • We think a shared path around the coast from North Bay (Shelly Bay) to Scorching Bay could be great for Wellington. The coast includes nesting and breeding areas for little blue penguins and white-fronted terns, as well as rare plant species. The harbour-side lane of Massey Road will become a safe area where people can enjoy a walk or leisurely bike ride along the coast. The 3km road from Shelly Bay to Scorching Bay will be one-lane and one-way only for motorised traffic.

    • Extend Central Library Hours on Sundays
      • This is a petition to extend the Sunday hours of the Wellington City Council Central Library (reflecting the current Saturday Opening Hours). This will enable the General Public to have more flexibility in visiting the Central Library on a Sunday. Currently the Central Library is only open from 1-4pm and there are a considerable number of people waiting for the library to open every Sunday I visit. I believe it would be beneficial for the Wellington public to have better access to their main library on a Sunday.

    • Ban Smoking Outside All Schools
      • This petition would ban smoking outside ALL primary schools, intermediate schools, secondary schools and early childcare centres (ECE). All sidewalks/footpaths and council-owned land within a minimum of a 10 metre radius of school property would be covered

    • Save the Evans Bay Patent Slip Wharf !
      • The Evans Bay Patent Slip Wharf is a historic landmark, a pillar of the local fishing community and part of Hataitai's summer fun. While it rots away to ruin in the harbour, people could be obtaining sustainable and affordable food by fishing, boating with ease, enjoying time with their families jumping from the wharf and learning about our very first patent slip, of national importance.

    • Pedestrian Crossing at Broadway and Strathmore Avenue
      • I am petitioning for a crosswalk across Strathmore Avenue at the intersection with Broadway Avenue. Doing this will benefit eight different schools in the area as well as the entire community. It’s a very common route for parents plus children who need to get to school or work. Currently it is a very dangerous and busy intersection which is why there should be a crosswalk.

    • Outdoor exercise equipment for council grounds
      • I would like to see the WCC build simple exercise apparatus to encourage adults and children to a healthier lifestyle. Examples would be: Pull-up bar, sit up bar, boxes for jumping or stepping up etc. Some places do have some of these currently, like Karori, but I would like to see them at most council playgrounds /recreational grounds like Nairnville Park or Wadestown Library.
