Non-member assistance for runabout with flat battery

Non-member, requesting assistance knowing that there will be a $280/hr charge. MR1 was dispatched and handed over a jump pack that they were able to start their engine with, making their own way home back to Paremata bridges. Aground on sand bank in Paremata Harbour

- Operation Details Date/Time: Fri, 13/12/2019 - 20:00 - Sat, 14/12/2019 - 23:00 Operation Type: CG Operation (good samaritan) People Assisted: 5 Total Volunteer Hours: 162 A 6m runabout ran aground on a sand bank returning from a day of ski biscuiting and wake boarding in Paremata Harbour (Pautahanui Arm of Porirua Harbour) at approximately 2:45pm today. Due to the falling tide it had to remain there for the day and we returned the owner back to it at 9pm to retrieve it. We used MR2 to tow it off the sand once the water level was high enough and safely returned to the launching ramp between the bridges. Late night breakdown

- Operation Details Date/Time: Tue, 25/11/2014 - 21:45 - Wed, 26/11/2014 - 11:55 Operation Type: SAROP Cat 1 People Assisted: 3 Total Volunteer Hours: 141 A 15ft runabout with 3 people on board broke down just offshore from Kaitawa Point (under the radio masts, south of Grandfather Rocks) just before 10pm. They were able to sit on anchor to avoid being blown onto the rocks while Coastguard Mana responded. We towed them back to their vehicle that was at the launching ramp between the bridges at Paremata. Broken down yacht grounded in channel

The engine would not restart and the 30+ knot winds quickly blew the yacht onto the sand on the side of the channel. Three men in a dinghy with engine failure

- Operation Details Date/Time: Wed, 01/05/2013 - 15:30 - 17:00 Operation Type: SAROP Cat 1 People Assisted: 3 Total Volunteer Hours: 10 CRV Trust Porirua Rescue responded with six crew to a Police callout.An aluminium dinghy with three men on board had engine failure east of Mana Island.On reaching the scene the vessel Millicent had the dinghy under tow. The tow was transferred to Porirua Rescue and two men were also transferred from the dinghy to increase free board on the dinghy. The dinghy was towed to the Paremata Bridge launch ramp. The two men on Porirua Rescue were dropped off at the Mana Marina Coastguard berth. 5m runabout with flat battery then no fuel

Located vessel with 2 people on board with PFD's and hand held radio (no flares, no torch, no GPS) drifting almost 4NM north of their reported location. Initially flat battery - jump started & headed to Paremata boat ramp - motor died opposite Hongeka Bay - run out of fuel - boat taken under tow @ 2025.
