Chews three
- WellUrban
- Retail space has been tight in Wellington for quite some time, especially along the Golden Mile. That's led to some retailers worrying about being "forced out of the CBD" by high rents, and while some are certainly having to move away from Lambton Quay and Willis St, that's not entirely a bad thing.

Stevie Starr
- Wellington Live Music
- There was a feeling of being within a production, with scattered lights and photographers all around. The scene had been set at The Mighty Mighty for Stevie Starr’s debut album release - ‘We Hope In All Things New’ - as a few monitors on stage screened security footage; humming noise from real world crime.

Harbour dredging: why dumping sites are in the wrong places
- Wellington Scoop

60 years of Wellington Trolley Buses
- Strictly speaking, Wellington's first trolley bus was a single 20 kW one from 1924 which ran along the Hutt Road for a while. However, the main fleet of trolley buses began in 1949 with the arrival of 10 Crossley/Metropolitan Vickers 78 kW examples (another 4 of this model also went to New Plymouth). The first route they were used on was was Oriental Bay where they shared the road with trams for 15 months.

A City for People
- Decades of inaction have meant house prices are out of control, while old rental properties rot out from underneath us. A whole generation of people are at risk of being forced out from the central city into new suburbs sprawling north, spending hours every day in traffic jams. We believe the Spatial Plan will allow Wellington to plan for the future so that new generations of Wellingtonians can share the city we love, and have a chance to live in a home that is affordable, accessible, healthy and warm.

Mount Street Cemetery
- The Mount Street Cemetery was the first cemetery in Wellington for Catholic burials and contains the graves of the first nuns and priests in Wellington. It remained open until 1891 although burials continued in existing family plots until 1954. The earliest surviving grave marker dates from 1851, and the latest from 1954. Although only around 200 headstones survive, it is estimated that there could have been as many as 750 to 800 burials. Many of the early markers were simple wooden crosses, which have long since vanished.
