Finalist for Wellington Sports volunteer of the year
- Wellington Tennis Club
- Congrats to Mark Leggett, who made the finals of the volunteer of the year section at the Wellington Sports Awards recently. Mark was up against people from cricket, hockey, softball and canoe sprint. Hockey won, but tennis did emerge a winner on the evening with Kilbirnie Tennis Club taking out club of the year. Well done, Mark, on your success.

Mixed weekend for top teams in weekend interclub
- Wellington Tennis Club
- Two wins and two losses saw a mixed weekend for our four top teams in interclub last weekend. Men’s Premier 1 were beaten 1-5 by an experienced Paraparaumu Beach team. Women’s Premier 1 went down 2-4 to Titahi Bay. Men’s Premier 2 scored a big 6-0 win over Miramar B. Women’s Premier 4 took the points against Kilbirnie in a very tight 3-3 tie that they won on game countback 68-63.

Top tennis at the club tomorrow
- Wellington Tennis Club
- Our Men’s Premier 2 team takes on a combined Kilbirnie/Wellington team in an interclub match at the Wellington Tennis Club courts tomorrow. It gets under way at 1pm on courts 2 and 3. The tennis will be top quality and the competition fierce … come along and support some of the club’s top players!
