Julia Scott - moth wings
- Black Coffee
- <figure class=" sqs-block-image-figure intrinsic " > Have you ever held a moth in your hands and it left glittery powder on your fingers? You might not be able to see it, but that powder is in fact tiny scales. Like feathers, those scales create pockets of insulation to keep the moth warm and provide heat for better muscle regulation during flight. They also provide camouflage through shimmering colours and delicate patterns. Just as lace can disguise the body, while simultaneously revealing everything. Armed with just a scalpel, Julia overlays delicate floral, botanical, and geometric lace patterns with moth silhouettes, leaving behind a sprinkling of tiny paper scales in her wake. Profile Julia Scott is a Wellington-based artist who specialises in paper art, with each piece meticulously cut out of paper by hand. Drawn to intricate paper collages while working towards a BFA, she also creates large scale hand-cut street maps by commission. She currently spends most of her time trail running with her dogs, working in environmental communications, and volunteering with the Remutaka Conservation Trust. @julia_scottbeetham

Major new sculpture for Wellington
- Wellington Sculpture Trust
- The Wellington Sculpture Trust is excited to announce the commissioning of a major new artwork by the Wellington-based artist Regan Gentry. The piece, named Subject to Change, has been specifically designed for its location in the Te Aro area, making reference to the changes in the urban landscape of that part of Wellington. It comprises a replica of two walls of a heritage-style building, yet is clearly a large scale work of art.

Results 24 May
- St Mary's Old Girls Netball Club (SMOG)
- There were some very close games on Saturday with SMOG 11, 13 and 17 all winning with a couple of points or so. SMOG 17 also had a close game, neck and neck with McLaren’s Daughters until the very last quarter where they were just edged out. SMOG 1 and 2 played eachother for the first time this season with a fab amount of support from the sideline given the weather!

Friends of Te Papa
- Friends of Te Papa, formerly Friends of the National Art Gallery, was founded to encourage involvement with the gallery and support the acquisition of new works for the collection. For more than 20 years, our valued Friends of Te Papa members have supported Te Papa by contributing to Te Papa’s collections through the purchase of artworks, taonga, and other collection items, by regularly visiting Te Papa to view exhibitions and attending a wide range of programmes.

Friends of Maara Roa
- Maara Roa is a forest restoration project at Cannons Creek Valley near Porirua. Its purpose is to restore the Bush back to what it was before the people who ruined it came. The project started in 2000, after some gorse fires destroyed yet more sections of native bush. A small group of people met to see if something could be done to stop it. The Friends of Maara Roa grew from that.

The life and times of James Walter Chapman-Taylor
- ‘The life and times of James Walter Chapman-Taylor’ enables us to enter into the life and times of a man, a family, a society, and ways of thinking and acting different to, yet not so distant from, our own. We enter the world of an architect, who is also an artist; builder, craftsman; a theosophist, an astrologer, a photographer, a furniture maker.
