The Harbour Master asked us to attempt to recover it to remove the hazard.       • Operation Details Date/Time:  Thu, 30/01/2014 - 10:00 - 11:30 Operation Type:  CG Operation (good samaritan) People Assisted:  1 Total Volunteer Hours:  9 6m alloy runabout with 1 person on board fishing near Te Rewa Rewa Point. He was unable to restart his vessel due to a loose fuel hose. Coastguard Mana were contacted directly and sent out a rescue vessel to tow him back in. Upon arriving at the scene the vessel was able to restart their engine and were escorted back to Mana.       • Operation Details Date/Time:  Thu, 21/11/2019 - 04:30 - 16:30 Operation Type:  CG Operation (good samaritan) People Assisted:  0 Total Volunteer Hours:  60 Launch 0530 Picton Marina Boat Ramp.  Met Talley Marine Rescue  at All Ports Island and headed for East Bay.  Met Flotilla inside Long Island and escorted to Ship Cove.  Cleared Exclusion Zone in Ship Cove and monitored. Greated all vessels arriving including 6 or 7 from Mana Cruising Club and on known from Havelock. Escorted flotilla to Kumitoto where Endevour and Spirit of New Zealand moored for the night. We responded in MR1 to tow him back to Mana Marina but didn't find anyone. He contacted us later to say that he had managed to recover himself by swimming the jetski back to the ramp between the bridges at Plimmerton.     • Yacht damaged on pole moorings during storm
      • Operation Details Date/Time:  Fri, 25/03/2022 - 11:30 - 13:30 Operation Type:  CG Operation (good samaritan) People Assisted:  1 Total Volunteer Hours:  8 A yacht broke the bow line on the pole moorings during a southerly storm. It swung around and damaged the yacht behind it. The Harbour Master requested us to help secure the vessel and MR2 put it back on the pole with a new line.  It was later discovered that the vessel planks had been damaged and it was taking on water. Pelorus delivered a battery jump pack to them to attempt to start the engine but it was not powerful enough.       • Northern United Rugby Football Club Inc was established in 1990 as a result of the amalgamation of the Porirua and Titahi Bay Rugby Football Clubs after their 1989 season. Northern United RFC is known as ‘Norths’ within the Wellington Rugby Football Union. The initial playing strip was the Porirua Rugby Club jersey with the Titahi Bay Rugby Club shorts and socks but in 1990 the official blue and white playing strip was introduced, which remains prominent 30 years on.

    • Wellington City Rural Fire Force
      • The Wellington Regional Council formed the WCRFF in 1993. Originally the Force shared residence with the Wellington Free Ambulance at Newtown. The Force moved to its’ own station in Burma Road Johnsonville, in December 1999 and stayed there for 3 ½ years. As the crew numbers increased and the purchase of the tanker the Wellington City Council moved our location to Tawa Depot on the 12th July 2003. Our current station gives us the opportunity to increase our crew numbers to our desired benchmark of 30 as well as housing our entire fleet, which currently consists of 6 vehicles, 4 trailers and a Communication Caravan.
