    • Vote no for both flyover options
      • One week of the eight-week consultation period is already over – leaving less than seven weeks to tell the Transport Agency what we think of their flyovers and their other roading plans. The best suggestion so far has come from Maximus on Eye of the Fish, who recommends that everyone sends a submission saying: I vote for neither of the two options presented. I demand to see a full and fair evaluation of all the other schemes that you have had for the last 2-3 years.

    • Welcomes and Congratulations
      • Welcome back to term 3. It was lovely to see all the smiling faces as students arrived at school yesterday. I hope everyone managed to enjoy their holidays and have begun the term feeling refreshed and ready for a HUGE term of learning. We are excited about this term. Our student achievement data from terms 1 and 2 is looking pretty good. However, as a staff, we met yesterday to discuss how we can continue to improve the achievement of our students over the next two terms.

    • Police search for missing tramper in Lower Hutt
      • Members of Wellington Search and Rescue spent several hours last night searching for a man who failed to return from a walk in the Rimutaka Forest Park on Friday afternoon. A Team consisting of 2 LandSAR volunteers and 3 Police SAR members including a Police dog handler located the male just after 5am this morning next to the Orongorongo River, several kilometers from his home. He was cold and hungry, but otherwise in good health. He had not allowed sufficient time to return home in daylight, so eventually had to stay put.

    • FNZ Soundly Beaten
      • Zephyr Rovers Manager Steve Hall said that Zephyr Rovers had had no problems disposing of lower league opposition today at the Shed of Dreams, despite George Nash (pictured) being full of the flu. "We were five goals to nil up when I decided to have a run in the outfield""said Hall "but when it got back to 5 - 2 I scurried back into the goals for fear of them getting back in it". Hall said Rovers stabilised after his return to goal and Rovers went on to score another four goals unanswered. "I actually had a clean sheet when I was in goal but the stand ins let a couple in" said Hall "and the distribution went from excellent to very poor, which explains why I couldn't buy a goal in the outfield". Hall said the fear was the teams Rovers were playing were not close to the standard of Division 1 so the Rover would have to lift their game several notches if another Div 1 campaign was to be contemplated. "We still need to strengthen the squad" said Hall "unless we end up in Div 2 where we'd be ok".Final: Rovers 9 FNZ 2Zephyr Rovers FC

      • We had our 1st game on the new {Porirua} turf on Sunday and came away with a 2 - 0 win against YWCA! The new turf is very bouncy, is like playing on shag pile carpet! Hopefully will settle down after some use! A great goal scored by Sonja Jeffs on the left wing, was in the right spot at the right time for a beautiful cross from the right and nicely swept in! 2nd goal was a great deflection into the goal by Chrissy Potaka Kelly after a hit to the 'spot'! Good work by the Team! Lisa
