Soup's up!
- The Wellingtonista
- Apparently it is National Soup Week, and since we of course believe everything that marketing people tell us, we'd like to know where the best soup in Wellington can be found. Is it served in bread at Kapai? Whatever it is at The'Ho that Gemma from Texture obsesses over? Something from the ever-expanding Wishbone? Or is there really no better soup than Continental Cream'o Vegetable cup'o soup served in a mug under a duvet on a couch to fight off a hangover?

Women's Firsts v Tawa (top-o-the-table-clash)
- Brooklyn Northern United AFC
- Aaaaa…Tawa. The steady sound of motor mowers and small children. The snobby reluctance to be associated in any way shape or form with their close neighbours Porirua. The constant purr of dehumidifiers working tirelessly in an effort to stop mould from coating every household surface. Isn’t it great just not to live there? What would be even greater would be if we were to beat them on Sunday and rob them of possibly the only thing they have to proud of – top spot in the division that contains our team.

Newtown group to protest against funding cut to local health care service
- In a classic case of David versus Goliath, concerned members of the Newtown community will protest the quarter million funding cut to the Newtown Union Health Service on Friday. NUHS has been told by the Capital and Coast District Health Board that it will lose $274,000 in funding from July 1. The frontline primary health care service caters to South Wellington’s most vulnerable communities, looking after people who have difficulty accessing appropriate and affordable health care due to socio-economic deprivation and language barriers.
