Willowbank Quarry - Judgeford
- Paremata Residents Association
- As you may be aware a rock quarry was set up to help with building the Transmission Gully motorway from an entry and exit off SH58 near the Judgeford Kennels. Porirua City Council granted consent for this specific purpose for a finite timeframe (to the end of December 2020 at the latest). Critically, it was agreed that the environmental impacts would be remediated upon completion of the rock extraction.

It's great to see us out there wearing our Club kit. It really stands out, keeping us safer on the roads. We don't open the kit shop very often - as we have to hit certain sales marks to make it viable. Generally, it's once a year - so take that into account when making your choices and put your best foot forward :)

Have your artwork in lights
- Porirua City Council
- Local artists have the opportunity to see their work on display in public and up in lights. Porirua City Council is seeking artists to feature over winter 2024 and summer 2024/2025 in the city’s lightboxes. Each lightbox exhibition will run for about five months, with six works by a single artist or collective on display during each exhibition. The lightboxes were installed in Porirua city centre in mid-2022 to showcase local artists and their work, says Pātaka Art + Museum Director, Ana Sciascia. “They provide an opportunity for curators and artists to exhibit work in a dynamically urban, high-profile environment.”

Babybel
- Newtown Festival
- Babybel is a femme three-piece band, making grungey shoe-gaze alt-rock. Birthed from the brain of George Banach-Salas, we started out as a two-piece, after Sam & George met at Girls Rock! Pōneke 2019 and had a big nerd out about music and a need for a music outlet. When we decided we needed a bigger sound, Shannen joined as our bass queen in 2020 and thus solidified the dream team that is Babybel.

Future of the Central Library consultation
- Wellington City Council
- The Central Library has been our city’s living room and a vital part of our vibrant inner city for decades. The building itself isn’t safe to use. There are several ways to make it safe for people to be in, which also brings new possibilities in using the space. This is our once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to set up the central library to continue to support Wellington's diverse communities for at least the next 50 years. Before decisions can be made on the future Central Library in October 2020 - we need to know what you think!

Decision 6 - Funding the Central Library rebuild | Kōrero mai | Wellington City Council
- Wellington City Council
- Wellington’s much-loved Central Library was closed in March 2019 following an engineering assessment saying that the way the floor was designed presented a high level of potential failure in a significant earthquake. It has a similar floor design to one used in the now demolished Statistics House, where a floor collapsed in the Kaikoura earthquakes. In 2020, we ran a six-week consultation in which we asked for public feedback on five options for restoring a Central Library service in Te Ngākau Civic Square. The options all considered the resilience of the building, future proofing the library service, the connection to Te Ngākau, and the overall costs.
