    • Metlink On Demand bus-hailing service to be extended after successful trial
      • A public transport service for the ride-hailing era is expanding in reach. Metlink On Demand, the app-based, demand-driven bus service, will cover a larger area following a decision by Greater Wellington councillors on 22 June. Metlink On Demand finished a successful 12-month trial on 16 May, having completed over 40,000 trips for the community. The trial will now be extended for another year, and the service will be expanded from Tawa and Grenada North to include Porirua CBD. As the trial continues, Metlink will also assess the viability of extending the service to Aotea and Cannons Creek.

      • We had our 1st game on the new {Porirua} turf on Sunday and came away with a 2 - 0 win against YWCA! The new turf is very bouncy, is like playing on shag pile carpet! Hopefully will settle down after some use! A great goal scored by Sonja Jeffs on the left wing, was in the right spot at the right time for a beautiful cross from the right and nicely swept in! 2nd goal was a great deflection into the goal by Chrissy Potaka Kelly after a hit to the 'spot'! Good work by the Team! Lisa

    • Tokelau Expo – a different loan request
      • A few months ago we received a rather unusual loan request, on the surface the request looked quite straight forward however on closer inspection it was going to be rather challenging. First of all the Community Mafutaga Tupulaga Tokelau Porirua had asked if they could borrow some of the Tokelauan taoga in the Te Papa Pacific Collection for a big Easter Festival held every two years, this year organised by the local Tokelau community in Wellington. As the community isn’t an institution (which we usually lend to) and because they only wanted the objects for a few hours on Easter Sunday we needed to treat this request a bit differently.
