Liturgies for Junior and Senior students retold the story of St Patrick and his mission in Ireland with song by the Pasifika Choir. Cross country runs warmed the blood on a brisk Silverstream day, with Fletcher Greaves (Year 9 Patrick), Steven Boyle (Year 10 Patrick), Ben Phillips (Year 11 Marist) and Shaun Smith (Year 12 Marist) taking the titles.

      • Last weekend we went to Blenheim to play in a mini tournament against Marlborough, Nelson and Canterbury. Our first 2 games against Marlborough and Nelson went well with good team work and 11-0 and 6-0 wins. Our coaches Nigel and Subs were reasonably happy, but we did miss a few opportunities. Our game against Canterbury was to be our big match of the weekend. Unfortunately, half our team were struggling with food poisoning and sickness so we performed well below our best, losing 6-1.

      • In contrast to the Stalla building proposed for lower Taranaki St, just a few days before that was announced, another building appeared in the property press, bound for Victoria St. This other building, seemingly only known as 101 Victoria St at present, is higher though – double the height in fact – yes, not 11, but a cool 22 storeys high. Interestingly, that’s still about 5m short of the height limit in the Victoria St “high city” height limit. Still, as it reaches for the stars, I’m going to christen it Stellar. I hope they don’t mind.
