Aisle be Back: All Blacks v Uruguay (the wash-up)
- Wellington Club Weekly
- By Kevin McCarthy My family used to live in the Falkland Islands, and politics being politics, if they needed better medical care, they’d take the slow boat to neighbouring Uruguay, rather than Argentina. The said ship, the Montevideo, was legendary for making people violently sick in the wild South Atlantic seas. I felt the same...

The Leaving Party
- Lōemis
- Katherine Mansfield, one of New Zealand’s greatest writers, left New Zealand for good in 1908. Before doing so, she threw a leaving party and invited all her friends. The party had many of her favourite ingredients: live music, good company, food offerings, tea, exquisite gin, parlour games, and elements of the occult and divination.

Fraser Ross and the Felt Tips
- Newtown Festival
- Playing solo or with friends (the Felt Tips), Fraser Ross is a gypsy-folk man. He is a keen lyrics man, and a inter-song banterer. Sometimes he dabbles in ballads, sometimes a quicker rinka-chink. His live shows are rare and exciting, his album (And Birds Do Sing) is brilliant but slow-burning.

A City for People
- Decades of inaction have meant house prices are out of control, while old rental properties rot out from underneath us. A whole generation of people are at risk of being forced out from the central city into new suburbs sprawling north, spending hours every day in traffic jams. We believe the Spatial Plan will allow Wellington to plan for the future so that new generations of Wellingtonians can share the city we love, and have a chance to live in a home that is affordable, accessible, healthy and warm.
