    • Runabout with electrical problems
      • Operation Details Date/Time:  Sun, 10/03/2013 - 16:00 - 20:15 Operation Type:  SAROP Cat 1 People Assisted:  4 Total Volunteer Hours:  29 A runabout experienced electrical failure while 6 nautical miles SW of Kapiti Island. They were still able to contact Maritime Radio via their VHF radio and a callout was activated. Coastguard Mana dispatched CRV Trust Porirua Rescue to assist, but by the time they got there another vessel had supplied them with another battery and got them started. TPR escorted both vessels back to Mana.       • Midweek Women Congratulations to Janet Strand who won the Stableford Competition with 40 points. Jessie Nielson was runner up with 37 points. In the Stableford competition, congratulations to: Silver:  Robyn Doherty 35 points Bronze 1: Judy Launder 36 points, Di Andrews 36 points  Bronze 2: Yvonne Fraser 36 points Bronze 3: Janet Strand 40 points Del Meade and  Janet Strand achieved a Two.

      • Having trained through the off season, and pre-season proper kicking off in early January, the BNU men's first team were keen to trade hurdles, ladders and running shoes for boots, game day and some serious opposition. The 2013 Hilton Petone tournament certainly gave us the opportunity to put our plans into practice. Our group consisted of our neighbours - Island Bay, North Wellington under 19's and our bogey team of last season, Kapiti Coast United.

      • Operation Details Date/Time:  Thu, 07/03/2013 - 09:30 - 13:30 Operation Type:  SAROP Cat 1 People Assisted:  3 Total Volunteer Hours:  20 A 5 metre runabout broke down in the middle of the northern part of Cook Strait. Total engine failure, all safety gear on board, good conditions. The initial recovery was performed by a fishing vessel with the tow handed to Coastguard Mana once on-scene.
