    • Pipitea Marae
      • Pipitea Marae was built in the early 1980s to meet the needs of the urban Māori population of Wellington and where traditional kawa and protocol are observed. In 2009, the Port Nicholson Block Settlement Trust and the Ngāti Poneke Māori Association Inc created a partnership where they offer the Marae to be used and embraced by all. Pipitea Marae continues to signify a place for people of all iwi and races to meet.

      • Our two centres, in Strathmore Ave and Raukawa St, work to facilitate connections that promote social wellbeing. From drop-in morning teas, craft groups, fitness classes and art lessons, the community centres host a vibrant range of services and events for everyone. Our social services include rescued food distribution and visits from professionals like midwives, social workers and legal advisors.

    • Newtown Early Learning Centre
      • In February 1985, a small group of parents and caregivers decided to set up a community crèche, which opened in June 1985 with one paid worker supported by parent helpers. Over time, the crèche evolved into a fully professional education centre with qualified teaching staff. The community of parents and caregivers still owns and governs the Centre, and the community is still involved in its day-to-day running.
