Letha Whitham's Trip to Sakai and the Senshu marathon
- Wellington Sakai Association
- Quite a late start for what im used to with Marathons, I definitely appreciated the extra time in bed this morning. The day was clear and still with bright sunshine, a whole world away from the windy storms I had experienced while training for this race in Wellington. I was happy the weather was on our side even if it was a lowly 9 degrees on the start line.

Blast from the Past (1980’s)
- Wellington Model Aeroplane Club
- Those older club members may remember the displays that the WMAC did at Strand Park in the 1980’s. I do; I enjoyed them. I found some photos I took which maybe of interest. Unfortunately couldn’t find any more. Argh, the good old days. From memory we did a lolly drop at Fraser Park (whats that […]

WHAT OF THE MEDLAR?
- Katherine Mansfield House
- At Katherine Mansfield House & Garden there is a tree that is perhaps often overlooked. Leaning over the driveway, it sheds fruit every winter. It’s the medlar tree - a tree with deep roots in history and literature - mentioned by everyone from Chaucer to D H Lawrence.

Women's Wrap - 15 May 2017
- Upper Hutt Football
- Round 1 is done and dusted for the W League team, and we’ve gone through unbeaten, and very pleased to be 5 points clear from our closest rivals Wellington Utd & Palmy North Marist. The last two games of the round saw us face a strengthened Wairarapa at home. We knew this wouldn’t be the same team that allowed us to beat them 20-0 in the Kelly Cup, and we were right. Wairarapa came out to compete, and their shape, compactness and tireless efforts meant we were finding them hard to break down.
