Quartz hill is off the air
- ZL6QH Quartz Hill User Group
- The Quartz Hill site is now closed for major amateur radio activity while a wind generation farm is under construction there. The activities log and the provision to make bookings have therefore been suspended. We are hopeful that we will be able to return to the site and re-establish the station once the wind farm is in operation.

Report on 2 June 2007 activity day
- ZL6QH Quartz Hill User Group
- The day turned out better than anticipated - no rain and only a stiff breeze. Consequently our plans to carry out 'mould busting' inside the building were cancelled and most of the team headed outside to take advantage of the fine weather.

Zm2e 137 khz activity
- ZL6QH Quartz Hill User Group
- There is a bed and mattress firm in Wellington with a slogan: "You get more Zeds at Wellington beds". How that compares with ZM2E can be checked out from any listener reports. We would hope that you get more Zeds from Quartz Hill, but the last laugh may be on us with the threat of watching eyelids during the third night.

Wind damage at Quartz Hill
- ZL6QH Quartz Hill User Group
- Wellington was battered by a wild storm with severe northerly winds on Sunday night 11 June 2006. Bob ZL2AMI was at Quartz Hill during the storm, participating in the ANARTS RTTY contest. He reports that wind was the strongest that has experienced at the station. Evidently the wind was gusting up to 145 km/hr at Mt KauKau, which is only a few kilometres away from Quartz Hill.

2006 annual summer open day and BBQ
- ZL6QH Quartz Hill User Group
- The 2006 annual summer open day and BBQ was held on 15 January. Quartz Hill lived up to its reputation and turned on a brisk and cool northerly wind, so it was not the best day for bathing in the sun! Howver this did not deter 27 people, including four children, who made the pilgramage to the event.
