    • Success in Australia
      • 26 Mar 2008
      • Wellington Brass Band Inc.
      • All the hard work paid off for the band when they won the Australian B-Grade on Easter Sunday, 23 March. The Australian national contest was held in Brisbane this year and Pelorus Trust Wellington Brass was one of only two NZ bands, with Dalewool, to make the trip across the Tasman. The band won the Hymn, Own Choice and Test sections and came second in the Stage March, producing an aggregate well clear of the second-placed band. read more

We will be at Crofton Downs Mitre 10 on October 14th and November 4th and we're aiming to sell as many sausages as possible to raise funds for our trip to the Australian Nationals next year. Every sausage sold gets us a dollar or two closer to our target.

    • The Wellington District Contest
      • 17 Sep 2007
      • Wellington Brass Band Inc.
      • The band met at the bandrooms at nine am, and from there we car pooled out to Southwards. The band then performed a Hymn and Test piece in the morning session. The hymn "Dear Lord and Father" went pretty well with no major worries. Without leaving the stage the band then played their test piece entitled "The Force of Destiny" by well known classical composer Verdi, this piece is technically very demanding, and whilst the band played well, a few sections of the band would've perhaps liked one or two more rehearsals to work on some of the harder tutti passages.
