Akatarawa Attack
- Wellington Orienteering Association
- 80 mountainbikers attacked the Akatarawas on Saturday, armed only with a map. And 78 emerged more or less unscathed, close to the 4 or 8 hours each team had chosen for their battle with the rugged bush area between Upper Hutt and Kapiti. The final team of 2 pulled into the base at the end of Bulls Run Road three and a half hours late - battered but unbowed.

Writers Owen Marshall and Lawrence Patchett at the National Library
- Randell Cottage Writers Trust
- What makes a short story? Is it a question of length? Or is it the plot? What about flash fiction? Twitter fiction? The long form? What makes a New Zealand short story? Is it the landscape? The shape? The theme? Writers Owen Marshall and Lawrence Patchett will address these – and other – questions in in an evening of discussion and readings at the National Library on 2 December 2015.
