The opening of our Artist in Residence exhibition C.M.Y. Cake on Friday night was a vibrant occasion, and the culmination of Marci Tackett's six-week residency at Marsden. It was a chance for us to showcase her beautiful prints and the fabulous work she did with our students.
Marsden is delighted to welcome our 2021 Artist in Residence, William Docherty, artist and educator. William has been an art educator for over 40 years and is a practicing artist, painter and sculptor. His work has featured in numerous exhibitions. They will take up the six-month residency in July, and will use this opportunity to work on their first novel, Te Rama Tuna | Eeling by Torchlight, a coming-of-age story about two young trans Maaori friends/lovers.
