The opening of our Artist in Residence exhibition C.M.Y. Cake on Friday night was a vibrant occasion, and the culmination of Marci Tackett's six-week residency at Marsden. It was a chance for us to showcase her beautiful prints and the fabulous work she did with our students.
Marsden is delighted to welcome our 2021 Artist in Residence, William Docherty, artist and educator. William has been an art educator for over 40 years and is a practicing artist, painter and sculptor. His work has featured in numerous exhibitions. Tauranga-based artist Cordula Taiwo is set to open her exhibition, "Of a Wild God," at Thistle Hall, intentionally overlapping with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds’ Wellington concerts (Feb 5 & 6). This sophisticated body of work is a deeply personal creative response to Nick Cave’s music, his public correspondence (The Red Hand Files), and his published conversations (Faith, Hope and Carnage).
