Denis 'Boots' Fisher
- Oriental Rongotai Football Club
- It is with deep sadness that we advise of the sudden passing of Club Legend and Life Member Denis "Boots" Fisher at his home in Island Bay last night. The phrase " A Good Club Man" is often bandied about but for the last 50 odd years it probably applied to Boots more than any other at this club.

Donald David Bond
- Oriental Rongotai Football Club
- Don Bond was an old-school public servant who had four great loves in his life - his family, friends, rugby club and work, which culminated in his job as director of immigration during the Muldoon and Lange years of the 1980s. Former immigration minister Aussie Malcolm numbered himself among Bondy's legion of fans. On learning of the death of his former director from respiratory and assorted ailments this week, Mr Malcolm recalled the true-blue Wellingtonian as self-effacing and a person who drew no attention to himself.
