Wellington City Council sets rates for 2007/08-Another election year

The Deputy Mayor, with his handful of votes that got him elected to Council, senses that CPR might be needed to a Council that is in its death throes now gasping for life with the possibility of an eight percent rate increase to the residents and a two percent increase to the commercial sector.

Mayor Ogden welcomes housing portfolio transfer

- Hutt City Council’s decision to transfer its housing portfolio to Hutt Holdings, a council controlled trading organisation, has been welcomed by Mayor David Ogden. Councillors on Tuesday (13 March) resolved 8-4 in favour of transferring the Council's stock of 186 housing units in the city to Hutt Holdings, after consultation through most of 2006.
