Dunne queries lack of progress on Jville shopping centre redevelopment

- Ohariu MP Peter Dunne is asking questions about when the Johnsonville Shopping Centre is to be redeveloped. He says that although resource consents were granted to the DNZ Property Group for the redevelopment and the Wellington City Council for associated road network improvements in September last year, there is still uncertainty as to when the work will begin.

- REPORT 1 CAPACITY ( WATER MANAGEMENT FOR WCC AND HCC ) I put forward the following amendment Recommend to Council that: (a) it agree to consult under section 88 of the Local Government Act 2002 on a proposal to bring water management back in house and instead pursue joint venture with local authorities and Wellington Regional Council. (b) it instruct officers to prepare the necessary consultation documentation for approval by the Strategy and Policy Committee MOVED Cr Pepperell. SECONDED CrRitchie.

- The Wellington City Council’s waterfront company is keeping the pressure on councilors to pay for two expensive and controversial projects which haven’t yet been approved. By June next year, says Wellington Waterfront Ltd in its Statement of Intent which was given to councilors on Friday, plans for the temporary ice skating rink and the temporary sideless tent “will be significantly advanced, if not completed.”
