Free Wellington: on your phone!
- The Wellingtonista
- Now there's the Free Wellington account, which will send you updates on things to do for free or under $10 in Wellington. But here's the trick: you can update it too. Just follow FreeWellington on twitter, and preface your updates with an FW, and everyone will be able to know what the water's like at the beach, or why they should be staying the hell away from Waitangi Park...

Drinking in the streets
- The Wellingtonista
- The Masked Barfly has joined the problem drinkers in Cuba Mall. No, I haven't started quaffing meths or wrestling diners for their steaks (it's all a filthy lie): Good Luck have gone overground and now have an outdoor drinking area in the middle of the mall.

Eva Dixon's to get the boot from the Zoo
- The Wellingtonista
- The DomPost reports that Eva Dixon's Cafe is being given the old heave-ho from Wellington Zoo. The contract for the running of the Zoo's cafe came up last October, and, as co-owner John Heald said... We were under the impression it wouldn't have been a problem and were waiting for the paperwork to come through ... But no!

Sculpture Garden
- The Wellingtonista
- This is one of my favourite places in Wellington: ... and if anyone ever tries to do it harm, as I've heard rumours of happening in the past, well... they just better watch out. Sorry for the crappy photo.

Cinephilia: Opening This Week
- The Wellingtonista
- It’s a quiet week for quality releases so you can all go to No Country for Old Men. Alternatively, if you’ve already done that or want a palate cleansing in advance of There Will Be Blood, you can check out comedy-thriller-romance Fool’s Gold at Readings, Regent or Sky City Queensgate.
