Eye of the Fish / August 2021
We are a fledgling blog that was created to continue the legacy of Tom Beard’s superb WellUrban. Our aim is to further discourse on Wellington’s urban environment, as well to as report on the other aspects of life in the capital. Tom has set certainly high standards for us, and we wish him all the best in his new position.

- Lockdown’s first couple of days with cold rain and drizzle were a bit miserable, but then on Saturday we had possibly the most perfect weather I’ve ever seen in Wellington.

Haining’s Historic Heritage
- Eye of the Fish
- It may not seem much like it now, but the Haining St / Frederick St area is brimming full of remnants of an interesting characterful heritage past.

Haining Street
- Eye of the Fish
- A proposal has come into Council for a revision, of a revision, of a revision of a building that was never very good in the first place. The “Due Pensione” and “Quattro on Haining” of about 10 years ago has been revisited once more – with yet another change of architects. Is this the third architect on this project, or the fourth?
