- Wellington Hash House Harriers
- Driving north from Wellington we went through rain, hail and winds threatening to throw the poor waggon off the road. When I stepped out into the near-freezing conditions it stood clear that this was the first "real" winter run of the year.

82nd Interclub Vosseler Shield Races
- Wellington Scottish Athletics Club
- A greasy, muddy course, brought on by several days of rain, greeted the fields for the four starts. WHAC's Kate McIlroy reversed last week's result by pipping Melissa Moon. And Tim Hodge stormed through at the head of the 5k race, a return to his usual form.

Hearty competitors brave this year's Sanctuary Gut Buster
- Karori Sanctuary Trust
- On Sunday, 8 May over 160 hearty competitors took part in the Sanctuary Gut Buster - a fun run around the outside of the Karori Wildlife Sanctuary's predator-proof fence. The run was organised by the Combined Rotary Clubs of Wellington, in conjunction with Wellington Harrier Athletic Club, Wellington City Council and Karori Wildlife Sanctuary to help raise funds for Karori Wildlife Sanctuary???s Discovery Area.

- There is little doubt that Seatoun would have been on cloud 9 ever since they were pitted against the mighty, in form BNU. The local baker had been baking ???good luck??? muffins all week, and the butcer had promised a weeks supply of giblets to anyone who could score the winner!

Costley & Moon Claim First World Champs Spots
- Wellington's Melissa Moon and Christchurch's Phil Costley claimed the first spots for the New Zealand team in the World Mountain Running Trophy to be held in Wellington when they dominated the national championships in the Capital today.

More hihi joining the flock at Karori Wildlife Sanctuary
- Karori Sanctuary Trust
- Another 30 hihi (stitchbird) are due to be released at Wellington???s Karori Wildlife Sanctuary on Thursday 19 May 2005. The birds will be joining the 30 hihi that were released at the Sanctuary on 17 February 2005 from Tiritiri Matangi Island, which marked the return of hihi to their natural environment on mainland New Zealand for the first time in over 120 years.
