Derailment south of Kaiwharawhara

- 10.50am 20 May 2013. Just after 8.00am, a Tranz Metro passenger train derailed while coming into Wellington blocking the southbound tracks on both the Kapiti and Hutt Valley Lines.

Upgrade work at Kenepuru and Naenae stations

- Greater Wellington Regional Council and KiwiRail are carrying out essential repairs and reconstructions at Kenepuru Station on the Kapiti Line and Naenae Station on the Hutt Valley line over the holiday break to ensure passenger’s safety and improve access.

More Matangi in service
- Tranz Metro
- Twenty new Matangi trains are now in service on the Hutt Valley and Kapiti lines. These trains are operating thirty-one return trips every weekday. In addition to a number of off-peak services, the Hutt line has Matangi operating on seven return services during the morning peak and five return services during the evening peak. The Kapiti line has seven evening peak services and five morning peak services delivered by Matangi.

We'll no longer be clipping tickets between Woburn and Petone stations before you board
