Bellies Beat Rovers

- Jimmy Five Bellies narrowly eclipsing Zephyr Rovers 6 - 4 today at the Shed of Dreams. "We had a bit of an availability crisis with only five players and this was amplified when Matty did his usual trick of turning up at half time".

"Like My Old Pub Team"
- Zephyr Rovers FC
- Zephyr Rovers Chairman George Nash was unimpressed after watching Wellington Phoenix demolish Sydney FC 3 - 0 on Sunday at the Westpac Stadium. "They looked about as strong as my old pub team" declared Nash "and the theatrics of the Brazilians wouldn't have gone down well in Scotland I can tell you".

Karori Slapperz 2 - Uni Legends 2
- Karori Slapperz AFC
- Legends, known for their pointless pretty boy passing from defence to midfield without actually getting a ball in the box are like a rubbish version of The Arsenal, but managed to give the Slapperz a right run around all day especially in the middle. Despite this, the Slapperz took an early lead when Geeza put though a ball for Story to bang in his 11th of the season 1-0.

- Karori. Six million dollars and still under water. With conditions perfectly suiting toe hacking, BNU played football instead.

- The first Wellington Phoenix home pre-season game has been moved for the second time. Originally announced for the Basin Reserve, at some point it was switched to Newtown Park and now, according to the official site it has been moved to Westpac Stadium due to “concerns that Newtown Park would not have the capacity to cope with the big crowd expected.” Sunday at 2.00pm is kick-off time and the tickets are only $10 (and free for under 16s).

Chopper Chopped
- Zephyr Rovers FC
- Zephyr Rovers Manager Steve Hall has admitted this evening that his key enforcer Colin "Chopper" McIntosh was nursing an injury and was in doubt for the clash on Monday against Whites. "The lad's been a bit of a marked man since his name got into the media as our hard man" said Hall "he got targeted a bit by Ten Left Feet and he's now nursing an ankle injury". Hall said that he'd expect George Nash to step up into the enforcer role.

Chopper To Tone It Down
- Zephyr Rovers FC
- "Chopper" Colin McIntosh (pictured) has confirmed he will tone down his act for the Division 1 clash against Ten Left Feet at the Shed of Dreams on Wednesday. "I've been getting a bit of stick for my uncompromising style" said McIntosh "but I want to be seen as a player of genuine skill not just someone who chops the opposition down at the knees".

- 12 of us head down to Titahi Bay to play on a pitch with wooden goalposts and in dire need of a good mow.

Women's Firsts v Tawa (top-o-the-table-clash)
- Brooklyn Northern United AFC
- Aaaaa…Tawa. The steady sound of motor mowers and small children. The snobby reluctance to be associated in any way shape or form with their close neighbours Porirua. The constant purr of dehumidifiers working tirelessly in an effort to stop mould from coating every household surface. Isn’t it great just not to live there? What would be even greater would be if we were to beat them on Sunday and rob them of possibly the only thing they have to proud of – top spot in the division that contains our team.

Jimmy Five Bellies
- Zephyr Rovers FC
- Jimmy Five Bellies went to the head of Division 1 today with an ominous 20 - 2 thrashing of Infinity. "I don't know the make up of the Infinity line up these days" said Rovers Manager Steve Hall (pictured) "but they used to be a very strong side and it is hard to see how anyone put twenty goals past them".
