This year, Wellington Youth Choir is proud to celebrate our 30th Anniversary! We have come a long way from our origins back in 1989 (before our website could even exist!) For years, Wellington Youth Choir has centred around bringing together young people who all collective enjoy singing.

Lux Aeterna will be centred around finding our own sense of spirituality.

Speaking of new singers, we are very excited to let you know that our auditions for 2019 are live and ready for bookings!
Do you love to sing? Have you sung in a choir previously or have always wanted to? Wellington Youth Choir is just what you’re looking for!
Wellington Youth Choir is made up of roughly fifty students and young professionals aged between 18-27, and prides itself on being an energetic, inclusive, and passionate group. Performing a wide variety of pieces ranging from Verdi’s Requiem, to more contemporary and unique pieces, we often perform in different venues and locations within and outside of Wellington.
Auditions will be held on Sunday 3rd March from 9am-4pm at Toi Poneke Arts Centre.

As 2019 approaches, the Wellington Youth Choir are looking for a new Musical Director!
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced and passionate choir directors to lead the Wellington Youth Choir.
Wellington Youth Choir has been nominated as a finalist for the Wellington Airport Regional Community Awards 2018! We’re incredibly thankful for the support of the community and look forward to the Awards ceremony in July!
About the Awards
Every year, Wellington International Airport, Wellington Community Trust, and the five local councils come together to recognise the work carried out by community groups in the wider Wellington region. The focus of the Awards is to celebrate volunteers for their valuable contribution to society.
Finalists from each region to compete for the overall award in their category, and the opportunity to be named Supreme Winner. Members of the public are invited to nominate any not-for-profit group or organisation working in the interests of the community.
WE’RE LOOKING FOR TENORS AND BASS VOICES TO JOIN US IN THE SECOND TRIMESTER! Wellington Youth Choir is a self-run, mixed group of singers between the ages of 18 and 27. Wellington Youth Choir presents its’ first concert series for the year, and we are very excited to be bringing our music to St Matthew’s Anglican Church in Masterton!
Directed by Jared Corbett & Penelope Ceri, Something Borrowed, Something New is an exciting collection of choral music across a variety of genres, from times past and present, through things borrowed and new! This concert series includes long-forgotten pieces performed by the choir in previous years, as well as exciting, brand-new pieces creating new sounds and music never heard before!
Come along and enjoy an evening of youthful energy and high-quality singing!

Wellington Youth Choir has been working very hard this term! We’ve welcomed several new faces to the choir, and have raced through our repertoire in anticipation of our upcoming concerts!
I have been in the choir for nearly 4 years now, and going on camp has always been something I look forward to.
Our choir spent the last few days at Forest Lakes in Otaki under workshops, socialising and of course, singing! We even have a sweet video from it all which is linked below:

Wellington Youth Choir are going on tour! We’re off to Nelson and Blenheim over the weekend of 16th – 18th September 2016, and are really excited to share our music in our Musical Director’s hometown.
