    • Many times before I left I was told “it’s not about the Marathon”. At the time I smiled and agreed but the competitor in me said otherwise, as far as I was concerned, it was “all about the Marathon”. In hindsight I was completely wrong. The Marathon is one of a multitude of different experiences and interactions within a culture that is so different to our own.
