Tau'a'alo: Sione Faletau
- The Dowse Art Museum
- Using audio from songs and recordings of environments to form digital kupesi or patterns, Faletau has created a unique Tongan visual vocabulary of time and space. Tau’a’alo refers to a chant that expresses the essence of paddling together - a metaphor for coordinated effort. As well as synchronising motion, tau’a’alo are said to ‘lighten the heart and strengthen the muscles’.
