PENGUINS GIVEN THE BIRDBack on March 1, 2010 I ran a story with the title ‘Te Kopahou (Red Rocks) Reserve - Experts take on Penguins’ about the battle that was then raging in the Environment Court here in Wellington about an application by the Wellington City Council to rezone for residential use some land at the entrance to the Nature Reserve.
Since 2002 these excursions to the Chatham Islands has been offered to, and enjoyed by, many Friends of Te Papa. Touring with Hamish and Chris is a rare opportunity to visit the Chathams in a safe and convivial context. The plan is to visit Chatham and Pitt Island, sea and air conditions permitting.
