NZ Bus disappointed with GWRC trolley buses decision

- NZ Bus is disappointed with today’s decision by Greater Wellington Regional Council to phase out trolley bus services in 2017. NZ Bus Chief Executive Zane Fulljames says that the Regional Public Transport Plan (RPTP) has made steps in the right direction to improving Wellington’s public transport network but time will tell if the Council has got the trolley decision right.

Simplified PTOM will help plan Wellington’s public transport network

- NZ Bus has today welcomed the passing of legislation introducing a new Public Transport Operating Model (PTOM). NZ Bus CEO Zane Fulljames says the changes incentivise local authorities and operators to form strong partnerships and work together on long-term strategies to plan the shape of New Zealand’s public transport networks.

Airport Flyer - More Arrivals and Departures from January 2013

- NZ Bus today announced changes that will further improve their already highly successful Airport Flyer service in Wellington. From 14 January 2013, there will be a significant increase in frequency with the Airport Flyer bus departing Wellington Airport every 10 minutes during peak times to Wellington train station and back instead of the current 15 minutes. In addition to the new 10 minute peak frequency to and from the Airport and Wellington Station, all Airport Flyer buses will travel via Cobham Drive which will further enhance the reliability of this quality service.

- There will be no GO Wellington bus services leaving from the Wellington Rail Station or from Karori Terminus between the hours of 7.30am and 8.30am on Wednesday, 24 September.
