The President of the Churton Park Community Association (CPCA), Roger Ellis, today announced that he did not intend to seek re-election at the CPCA’s AGM in March. His resignation will take effect from the AGM on March 17th.
Contractors have now started to cut down and remove the big group of very large old willow trees from beside the stream adjacent to Middleton Road near Halswater Drive Churton Park. The stumps will be poisoned to prevent new growth.
Their removal will allow the new plantings in this area to thrive with more light. An additional benefit will be that blockages of the stream will be cleared, allowing the stream to remain in its channel.
Here are some photos of what the Streamcare Group has acheived in a short space of time with the help of volunteers.
Think of what could be acheived if more helped out.
