Fonterra has once again provided support to Wellington hospital patients with the donation of more than 40 walking frames, gifting them to the Wellington Hospitals & Health Foundation. This bumps up the suppply donated last year by Fonterra. The frames are used in both hospitals and patients homes.
Prominent Wellington law firm DLA Phillips Fox have donated to the Foundation a number of etched glass panels for use in the New Wellington Regional Hospital.
LVMartin & Son (”It’s the putting right that counts”) have Christmas Wishing Trees at their stores for Children’s hospitals.
Gifts placed at any of LVMartin stores will be donated to the Children’s wards at Wellington, Kenepuru, and Hutt and Rotorua Hospitals.

This year Nick Tansley and his great team from the Carols by Candlelight Trust will be holding the Christmas Carols at The Basin Reserve. The new venue is a first for Nick and the beauty of the new location is that families can bring their blankets and food and have a picnic and be part of christmas. Glass and alcohol are banned but all your picnic fare is acceptable.
The Wellington Hospitals and Health Foundation will be selling LIGHT STICKS and a bucket collection will be in place. All funds from donations and sale of light sticks will go to benefit all the sick kids at WELLINGTON CHILDRENS HOSPITAL.

The Wellington & Kenepuru Hospital Volunteers won the Regional Health and Wellbeing Award on Monday night 1 October. The Wellington Airport Community Awards and sponsored by Community Trust of Wellington are annual awards made to the many volunteer groups throughout the greater Wellington Region.
Year 12 Students of Onslow College, Rebecca Hart and Colin Jackson, recently raised funds and toys for Wellington Childrens Hospital.
Kate Marchant, Childrens Hospital Play Therapist said the donation was a big boost for the Hospital.
Rebecca and Colin asked their fellow students to donate their old toys and also raised funds.

On Thursday 6 Septemer at a Civic function hosted by the Mayor of Wellington, Kerry Prendergast, the Wellington Hospital and Health Foundation accepted on behalf of all hospital volunteers a Winners certificate for the Wellington Airport Regional Community Awards 2007.
The Woolworths, Countdown and Foodtown supermakets throughout New Zealand have raised $113,000 in the first week of the campaign. All funds will go to assist the special requirements at the Childrens Hospitals in South Auckland, Waikato, WELLINGTON, Canterbury and Dunedin.
The Foundation is very grateful to the staff and Management of all the supermarkets who are participating in the campaign.

The Rotary Club of Port Nicholson recently held a fundraising breakfast at the Intercontinental Hotel in Wellington for 220 guests. Funds raised are to go to Wellington Children’s Hospital. Ian Patterson from Just Patterson Real Estate auctioned off a number of items at the breakfast. The Foundation is very appreciative of the support of the Rotary Club. Funds raised will go towards much needed equipment in the childrens hospital.
Woolworths, Countdown, SuperValue and Fresh Choice Supemarkets launch an appeal throughout their supermarkets to raise funds for Wellington Childrens Hospital.
The Wellington Hospitals and Health Foundation has received from BP a supply of BP petrol vouchers to pass on to our Wellington and Kenepuru Hospital volunteers as a thank you for all they do for their hospital communities.
The Foundation is one of many charities who have been selected to receive the petrol vouchers and on behalf of our volunteers we say thank BP.
Plimmerton School recently donated a number of books to Wellington Children’s Hospital. The Foundation is greatful to the school as there is a never ending need for good books for the 4000 children who pass through Children’s Hospital each year.
Donation boxes have been placed in Wellington Hospital by the Foundation. Funds donated by the public go towards patient care at Wellington Hospital. "The Foundation uses these funds to buy those little extras that are unable to be funded by the Government" said Shona Brunton - Foundation Coordinator.
Ms Belinda Yeates has been appointed Manager of the Foundation’s Hospital Volunteer Services. The service has been providing volunteers at Wellington and Keneperu Hospitals for many many years. The service has in excess of 100 volunteers and is currently recruiting additional members. Belinda has taken over from Kim Clifton.
The Community Trust of Wellington together with Spotless Catering Ltd hosted 170 volunteers at a luncheon at Westpac Stadium on 12 June 2007, to recognise the significant contribution volunteers make to the well being of many Wellingtonians.
The Foundation has installed an Honours Board in the entrance of Wellington Hospital. The purpose of the Board is to recognise all individuals, businesses and organisations who have assisted the Foundation in its work for the benefit of patients and families at Wellington and Keneperu Hospitals.
