Wellington Region’s New Children’s Hospital took another significant step towards completion on the weekend, when builders McKee FEHL removed the multi-storied crane, allowing the new hospital to be completely enclosed and interior work to take place.

Wellington Hospital Patients supported by Fonterra again

- Fonterra has once again provided support to Wellington hospital patients with the donation of more than 40 walking frames, gifting them to the Wellington Hospitals & Health Foundation. This bumps up the suppply donated last year by Fonterra. The frames are used in both hospitals and patients homes.

- This year Nick Tansley and his great team from the Carols by Candlelight Trust will be holding the Christmas Carols at The Basin Reserve. The new venue is a first for Nick and the beauty of the new location is that families can bring their blankets and food and have a picnic and be part of christmas. Glass and alcohol are banned but all your picnic fare is acceptable. The Wellington Hospitals and Health Foundation will be selling LIGHT STICKS and a bucket collection will be in place. All funds from donations and sale of light sticks will go to benefit all the sick kids at WELLINGTON CHILDRENS HOSPITAL. We thank Nick and his team from the Trust for their continued suipport of Wellington Children’s Hospital Doors open at 5.30pm Mark your diaries NOW for another great night.

Onslow College Students Help Wellington Children’s Hospital

- Year 12 Students of Onslow College, Rebecca Hart and Colin Jackson, recently raised funds and toys for Wellington Childrens Hospital. Kate Marchant, Childrens Hospital Play Therapist said the donation was a big boost for the Hospital. Rebecca and Colin asked their fellow students to donate their old toys and also raised funds. The Foundation and Children’s Hospital thank Rebecca and Colin and all Onslow students for their thoughtfulness and support of Wellington Childrens Hospital Teacher Sharon McIntosh, Colin Jackson, Kate Marchant & Rebecca Hart make their presentation to Wellington Childrens Hospital

Fresh Future Campaign raises $133,000 in first week for Childrens Hospitals in NZ
- Wellington Health Foundation
- The Woolworths, Countdown and Foodtown supermakets throughout New Zealand have raised $113,000 in the first week of the campaign. All funds will go to assist the special requirements at the Childrens Hospitals in South Auckland, Waikato, WELLINGTON, Canterbury and Dunedin. The Foundation is very grateful to the staff and Management of all the supermarkets who are participating in the campaign.

John Key Rotary Breakfast raises Funds for Wellington Children’s Hospital

- The Rotary Club of Port Nicholson recently held a fundraising breakfast at the Intercontinental Hotel in Wellington for 220 guests. Funds raised are to go to Wellington Children’s Hospital. Ian Patterson from Just Patterson Real Estate auctioned off a number of items at the breakfast. The Foundation is very appreciative of the support of the Rotary Club. Funds raised will go towards much needed equipment in the childrens hospital.

BP Vouchers for Volunteers

- Donation boxes have been placed in Wellington Hospital by the Foundation. Funds donated by the public go towards patient care at Wellington Hospital. "The Foundation uses these funds to buy those little extras that are unable to be funded by the Government" said Shona Brunton - Foundation Coordinator.

New Volunteer Services Manager Appointed

- Ms Belinda Yeates has been appointed Manager of the Foundation’s Hospital Volunteer Services. The service has been providing volunteers at Wellington and Keneperu Hospitals for many many years. The service has in excess of 100 volunteers and is currently recruiting additional members. Belinda has taken over from Kim Clifton.
