Slightly ironic column from the DomPost on the flyover
- Iona Pannett
- Given that The Dominion Post has been such a cheerleader for the flyover, it is curious to know now that they are raising concerns around the Basin Reserve losing its test status.

Shrinking the aquarium?
- Iona Pannett
- Sensible, given the cost, the people behind this proposal are wonderful and have worked hard to protect our marine environment so let's see if we can get this project over the line. Photo courtesy of stuff.co.nz

Every movement must have a counter movement - more on the move to smaller houses
- Iona Pannett
- Good to see more discussion on the move towards building smaller houses as costs escalate and more Councils move towards denser housing policies. Architects and builders have the ability to design great houses, the issue is whether the market will make the move away from mega houses and whether policy makers can assist with this change. Does Tawa need a $20m retail development?
- Iona Pannett
- I'm a little ambivalent on this one after hearing that Rock Solid Holdings are planning a big box development at Takapu Island.

Some great Kelburn architecture
- Iona Pannett
- Always enjoy a walk around Kelburn and nice to be there as part of the St Michael's Village fair. Took photos of these two buildings on the way home. One a good example of some fine public architecture, the other a good example of how to do a house extension well.

Quakes good for Wellington economy - seems yes, but no definite proof yet
- Iona Pannett
- The millions of dollars being poured into the Wellington economy to earthquake strengthen buildings is great news for our economy but a warning here.

Good news for Wellington property market forecast
- Iona Pannett
- Good to see that Jones Lang Lasalle is predicting a good year for Wellington property owners given that property is such an important source of our wealth. Interestingly in the current climate with concerns around the seismicity of some buildings, Grade-B buildings are predicted to do particularly well.

Numbers of teenagers getting licences drops
- Iona Pannett
- So who are we building all these Roads of National Significance projects for then? Given Wellington's superior provision of public transport, it is no surprise that the biggest number drops are in Wellington.
