Hutt City gains advanced Business Excellence Award
- Hutt City Council
- Hutt City Council has just gained a Silver Level Achievement Award in business excellence. Apart from Auckland Regional Council, it is the only local body in New Zealand to get to Silver Level. It follows a Bronze for the Council in 2004.

Celebrating our extraordinary Dowse Award Winners!
- Hutt City Council
- Since 1999 The Dowse has run two biennial awards supported by David Thomas, an Australian benefactor. They are the Thomas Gold Award for Jewellery and the Thomas Award for Glass. The awards have meant that each year The Dowse has been able to assist an artist in taking their work to the next level with an award to the value of $10,000. The recipients have been jewellers Pauline Bern, Joanna Campbell and Kirsten Haydon and glass artists Elizabeth McClure and Claudia Borella. The recipient of the 2006 Thomas Award for Glass is Lyndsay Patterson.

- The Blumhardt Foundation will host a panel discussion of leading artists tomorrow (Tuesday 19 September, 5.30pm, The Auditorium, National Library, Molesworth, Wellington). The Foundation will also announce new initiatives to foster the development of decorative arts and design in New Zealand.
