Hutt City Council has accepted over 1,000 applications for rates relief as part of the Government’s Rates Rebates Scheme, Hutt City Mayor David Ogden announced today.
The Scheme provides a subsidy of up to $500 to low income home owners and ratepayers on the cost of their rates. Residents have been eligible to apply for a discount on their rates since the Council sent out its first rates notice in early August.

Reports of anti-social behaviour towards Wellington City Council frontline staff have increased by 323 percent in the past five years, rising from around 400 reports per year pre-COVID to almost 1000 annually.
