Science Fair

- NIWA Science Fair Results: Despite only having five entries to the Science Fair this year we have had some wonderful results, Sophie Hayes in Year 9 has won the Callaghan Innovation prize, First in Class 3 (Year 9), the Royal Society of NZ Wellington Branch Prize for the runner-up best overall exhibit, and the Victoria University of Wellington Faculty of Science Prize for her project on Charging Smart-Watches without having to take them off – amazing!! And Rayha Samin has won a Victoria University of Wellington Faculty of Education Prize for her project on habitable exoplanets – great stuff! If you see either of these students please congratulate them on their dedication and hard work through this year.

Skateboarding
- Wellington Girls' College
- The Regional Skateboarding Champs were held recently at the Kilbirnie Rec Centre and WGC had six Year 11 students competing. In the Senior division, Jess Wilson came 2nd and Lisa Kudrnova 3rd which is a brilliant effort. Over 50 students competed and the organisers noted the standard is getting better each year.

Junior A Football League Winners
- Wellington Girls' College
- The Junior A football team had a brilliant 4-0 win against Queen Margaret College to take out the Junior Premiership league. Lila Cory scored 3 great goals and Natascha Casey scored one goal. It was a perfect finish for the team who had gone through the season unbeaten. Thanks to coach Ian Thompson for all his time and effort with the team. College Sport Wellington
