Congratulations to our two choirs who participated in the Big Sing on Thursday 8 June. Our small choir, Ngā Waipahihi won two awards the Adjudicator’s choice and best performance of a piece in te reo (which is a new award for 2023) Great mahi was shown by all performers.

“This year Onslow College participated in the 2022 National Showquest Competition. Schools across the country put together performances to be filmed and judged under numerous categories. Our creative dance students here at Onslow put together a beautiful performance under the theme of Aroha and the Māori story of Rangi and Papa.

The Randell Cottage Writers Trust is delighted to announce that essa may ranapiri has been selected as Aotearoa New Zealand Writer-in-Residence for 2026. They will take up the six-month residency in July, and will use this opportunity to work on their first novel, Te Rama Tuna | Eeling by Torchlight, a coming-of-age story about two young trans Maaori friends/lovers.
