Is the ugliest building in Wellington?
- Iona Pannett
- Great news that NZ owned TSB Bank has signed for another 10 year sponsorship deal for the Arena on the waterfront but I do think this is the worst building in the city - monolithic, no architectural merit, still do not know how it got oonsent. Needs a wrecking ball through it and a redesign.

The tide is turning and Green is becoming mainstream
- Iona Pannett
- Today, I felt optimistic as I sat in a room of property developers and other related professionals to talk about the future of the Northern end of the CBD including a small part of Thorndon, there was no talk of flyovers, denial of climate change and the inequality that exists througout the world.

Centennial Flats restored
- Iona Pannett
- Sometimes the Government does the right thing - good news to hear $4m is being put into the heritage listed Centennial flats by Housing New Zealand to earthquake strengthen and refurbish them. A good outcome for tenants and the city. Photo courtesy of stuff.co.nz

New apartment living
- Iona Pannett
- The refurbished apartment building at the bottom of the Dixon Street stairs in Te Aro was once a run down boarding house, now it has been converted into some lovely apartments in a fantastic location. The owner has done a great job - a good alternative who want to live in an apartment but on a small scale.

This is why Wellingtonians say they have the highest quality of life in the country
- Iona Pannett
- Just on the way to work and I snapped this picture on the waterfront. Lucky we are to live in a such a great environment. The 2014 Quality of Life survey results today show Wellingtonians say our city is a great place to live and do business but we of course knew that already.

Should freedom camping be allowed in Wellington?
- Iona Pannett
- The Government says yes after legislation was passed in 2011 so today the Environment Committee will look at a new bylaw on where people can and can't camp.
