Please join us as established and emerging art historians working inside and outside the academy present on their current and recent research. Thursday 8 October As part of the Art History in Practice Seminar Series, David Maskill, Senior Lecturer in Art History, will offer insights into the process of realising his Honours’ class exhibitions. Thursday 29 October Adam Art Gallery As part of the Art History in Practice Seminar Series Art History students Kari Schmidt and Simon Gennard will discuss the process of writing an Honours’ dissertation. Thursday 19 November Adam Art Gallery As part of the Art History in Practice Seminar Series, Aaron Lister, Curator at City Gallery Wellington, offers his insights on working with contemporary artist, Fiona Pardington, and curating her first substantial survey exhibition currently on show at City Gallery Wellington. Thursday 3 December Adam Art Gallery As part of the Art History in Practice Seminar Series, join Tina Barton, Director of the Adam Art Gallery who will revisit a lecture she gave at the Frankfurter Kunstverein in 2012 titled Over and Over Again: The Legacy of Gordon Walters, which offers a new reading of Walters’ early painting The Poet (1947).
