      • At about 5.30am on 20/12/09 the Salvation Army Shop located at 31 Onepu Road, Kilbirnie was burgled. The safe with approximately $900 was taken. This money is used to help the community by running Salvation Army programs and helping people in need.

Within the last month, a young female has been sexually assaulted and several youths have found themselves beaten and robbed on city streets. The recent spout of attacks has targeted intoxicated young people who are by themselves on city streets.

The total rate increase including the commercial and residential sector is quoted as 2.8 percent but when the sectors are broken down the commercial is zero and the residential is 6 percent or 6.5 percent depending on the final fix in the DAP.
