- Its a fashion show with the normal boundary crossing concepts – leading Wellington designers, up and coming Porirua designers, students with spunk, all presenting collections in a museum of contemporary Maori art. And it is fundraising for The Child Cancer Foundation. Descriptive words trip of the tongue - brown, edgy, worthy. Two months ago, the newest designers in this crew hadn’t touched a sewing machine. They get from street to dream in 8 weeks, and are now in a fashion show with Alexandra Owen, Starfish, Basquesse, Robyn Mathieson, Kiakaha.

Vintage wear just as loved second time around

- ANYONE with an interest in vintage clothing would do well to buy now while the time is right, says Aeon store owner Amy Oakes. The Cuba St retailer says at the moment vintage is pre-1970s, when most garments were handmade in New Zealand and better quality than the cheap imported clothing of more recent decades.

The fashion show is in support of grass-root netball and Wellington region’s high performance program.
