Carbon Neutral Victoria?
- 19 Jul 2009
- Salient
- Rushing to the airport to catch my mid-trimester flight back to the Bay, I was faced with several taxi cab options. Kiwi Cabs, Amalgamated, Harbour City and Combined, “New Zealand’s first carbon neutral certified cab”. As a wannabe greenie, my choice was easy. En route, I asked the guy behind the wheel why Combined took the carbon neutral plunge.

The Greens: recyclers extraordinaire
- 30 Oct 2008
- The Wellingtonista
- This particular Wellingtonista was just down at a protest taking place at the Greater Wellington Regional Council offices. Of course, the GWRC transport plans (PDF) are well worth protesting about: more roads, no light rail? Despite the hundreds (and the great majority) of submissions asking for the opposite?

It ain't easy being Green (Cabs)
- 12 Jun 2008
- The Wellingtonista
- Our favourite cab company has expanded to Auckland and Christchurch and are doing pretty well in both. But it's not all expansion and increasing profits. Recently the eco-friendly cab company has had to defend itself against statements from the head of the Taxi Federation. Then they had to fend off claims from other taxi companies (Combined in this case) that they were also "green".

- ‘And with that I think we'll end comments on this thread. It's been fun though hasn't it? The Wellingtonista will check with Green Cabs about whether or not they are purchasing any other cab company and report back. Thanks for the laughs’
- ‘Sorry Bevan, but which "boycott campaign"? There'll be no such thing coming out of the Wellingtonista in any kind of official fashion. And who exactly are the hypocrites? I find no evidence of any implication -- and certainly nothing stated -- that Com’
