      • In Wellington on Saturday October 17th from 10am-2pm, Stand Up Kiwis, led by the Art of Living will be active in Civic Square with live music and free yoga. At midday we’ll be spelling out the words Stand Up with a human chain, reading the Stand Up Pledge and counting the Wellingtonians who stand up for the global Guinness World Record attempt.

      • NO matter what, no one gets left behind – that’s the most important thing for the On Yer Bike women’s road cycling group. The women-only group, which was initiated in May by Wellington On Yer Bike owner Nigel Welch, is included as part of this year’s Wellington Push Play Outdoor Festival.

      • The new sound and video installation ‘Hold Still’ opened to much flurry and intrigue on Wednesday evening. The work which is situated in the Film Archive’s Mediagallery space is both poignant and charming; as artist Rachel Shearer does an extraordinary job at showcasing the work of amateur female film-makers during the 1930’s in New Zealand.

      • Victoria University of Wellington’s decision to relocate its department of Gender and Women’s Studies (GWS) to its Karori campus has created a myriad of logistical nightmares, claims a source from inside the department. The source, who wishes to remain anonymous, damned the decision to move the department in 2005, noting a lack of access to even the most basic of academic provisions.
